The high efficiency achieved by the latest SILA prototype enables back-drivability, essential for lower limb free swing (a natural gait). This is extremely beneficial to lower limb prosthetics. The non-contact transmission and resulting high efficiency also produce very low noise levels, again critical to prosthetics and various other applications.
